World Water Day 2026: SFA Group reaffirms its commitment to expanding access to safe drinking water for all
True to its social commitment, SFA Group, present through 30 subsidiaries worldwide, takes part each year in major International Days related to its core business: World Plumbing Day (March 11), World Water Day (March 22), and World Toilet Day (November 19).
On the occasion of World Water Day 2026, SFA Group is renewing its partnership with Planet Water Foundation by contributing €10,000 — an amount matched by a private foundation — toward the installation of an Aquatower. This unit meets the daily drinking water needs of approximately 1,800 people. It will be deployed on March 20 at the Prof Maria Teresa Primary School in the village of Jilotepec, Mexico, a country where the Group recently strengthened its presence with the creation of its 30th subsidiary last November.
A sustainable solution for safe drinking water
The Aquatower is a standalone safe drinking water production system based on ultrafiltration technology combined with activated carbon. Operating without electricity, it effectively removes bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens.
Each unit can supply up to 1,800 people, with a production capacity of 1,000 liters of water per hour.
Designed as a comprehensive solution, the Aquatower also includes liquid soap distribution stations to encourage handwashing and proper hygiene practices. Each project supported by SFA Group also includes awareness programs for students and local communities, as well as multi-year maintenance monitoring to ensure the long-term sustainability of the installations.
€45,000 donated by SFA Group since 2021 for World Water Day
Since 2021, as part of World Water Day initiatives, SFA Group has allocated €45,000 to deploy innovative solutions promoting sustainable access to safe drinking water and the adoption of proper sanitation practices.
In 2021 and 2022, this commitment resulted in the installation of five AquaHome systems in Cambodia and the Philippines, combining household drinking water production with autonomous solar solutions for essential electricity needs. In 2023, an Aquafill system was installed in a Vietnamese school serving 250 students. In 2024 and 2025, two Aquatowers were deployed in schools in Cambodia. The year 2026 therefore marks a new milestone with the installation of a third Aquatower. Over five years, these initiatives have provided sustainable access to safe drinking water to more than 7,200 direct beneficiaries (including 1,500 students) and have raised awareness among several hundred schoolchildren about proper hygiene practices.
By embedding its actions in a long-term approach and strengthening the impact of its support year after year, SFA Group reaffirms its commitment to making a tangible contribution to a major global health and environmental challenge (2.2 billion people worldwide still lack access to safe drinking water and secure sanitation services).
